Fiber Cable Information TGIS presents the engineer with a fiber cable database behind each conduit section. Specific information can be customized to meet the needs of the organization, such as cable identifications, cable types, beginning and ending splice points, and distances between splice points. |

Route by Cable and Pair In the Fiber module, you can select a fiber cable by the entire cable or by select fibers within the cable. TGIS will thematically trace out the cable as specified. Every manhole, utility pole, and remote location will also be highlighted in accordance to your criteria. |

Find Fiber Break TGIS allows an engineer to enter an OTDR reading to pinpoint the location of a failed fiber cable. This routine will present the section of cable to contain the fault, as well as the distance into the section from the nearest pole or manhole. From there, the engineer can make a visual assessment of the nearest splice location. With this information, the engineer or foreman can immediately determine cable size and length required to replace the damaged section, as well as which fibers to splice back together first. |
